Still the most complete backup - runs, catches and protects - but his grip slipped in August after a missed blitz pickup in the preseason opener and a fumble near the goal line against Miami, dropping him into a three-way RB2 tie with Harris and Singletary. Active Week 1. Remains the likeliest Skattebo replacement, but no longer clearly.

Injury history: Scattered missed games in 2024-2025 (including a shoulder issue) but no long absence. Healthy through 2026 camp and active for Week 1 on Sept. 13; no injury designation reported.

Veteran kept for reliability and pass protection, listed in a three-way tie for RB2 in late August. He was active in Week 1 while Najee Harris sat, which is the meaningful update - he currently sits ahead of Harris in the pecking order despite being fourth in raw talent.

Injury history: A handful of missed games across the last three seasons with lower-body issues; now 29 with a heavy career touch count and no chronic condition reported. Active for Week 1 on Sept. 13 with no injury designation.

Re-verified at kickoff; the room's depth data changed since the earlier read, moving Najee Harris to RB2 ahead of Devin Singletary. The Giants' Week 2 tracker (stamped 2026-09-21 3:55 PM ET) shows no running back among New York's inactives, so Skattebo, Harris, Singletary and Tracy all dress. CBS reported 2026-09-21 6:56 PM ET that Harris is active after a Week 1 healthy scratch, with Skattebo leading, Singletary on pass-catching downs, and Harris expected to out-snap Tyrone Tracy, who fumbled against Dallas. Projection, not fact: if Skattebo could not go, Harris best matches his early-down and short-yardage role, with Singletary keeping third downs. Confidence is capped - the committee is unresolved and Harris's Giants debut is untested. Harris is free almost everywhere: a long shot who matters only if Skattebo misses time and Harris holds up post-Achilles.

Backfield news: No Giants running back is inactive tonight. Najee Harris dresses for the first time as a Giant after sitting Week 1, and reporting has him out-snapping Tyrone Tracy, who fumbled in the opener. Cam Skattebo remains the clear lead back; Devin Singletary handles pass-catching downs. No Giants back carries an injury designation for this game, and the RB2 job behind Skattebo is still genuinely unsettled.

Scouting: Material change: Harris was a healthy scratch for Week 1 (Sept. 13) as the Giants dressed Skattebo, Tracy and Singletary. His track record of 250-plus-carry seasons still makes him the most proven lead back in the room, but he is currently fourth in line and must earn his way back into the rotation. Not a usable redraft hold yet.

Starter injury history: 2025 (rookie): right ankle dislocation with an open tibia fracture and ruptured deltoid ligament in late October, ending his season and requiring surgery. 2026: returned without reported setbacks, listed atop the depth chart in late August and active for Week 1 on Sept. 13. No 2026 injury designation reported.

Re-verified at kickoff. The Giants' Week 2 game tracker (stamped 2026-09-21 3:55 PM ET) lists the Rams inactives as Nacua, Whittington, Kinchens, Daniels, Murray and 3rd QB Simpson - no running back - so Kyren Williams, Blake Corum and Ronnie Rivers all dress. Fact: a Rams team feature published 2026-09-20 has Corum's Week 1 line at 10 carries for 54 yards (5.4 ypc), with Sean McVay saying he 'did a nice job with the opportunities that he did have.' Projection, not fact: if Williams could not go, Corum should inherit early-down and goal-line volume; passing-down work is less certain. Corum is widely rostered and already gone in many leagues; the lower-rostered fallback in this room is Ronnie Rivers, free almost everywhere, but his path is far thinner - RB3 with no dated rotation evidence, needing both backs out to matter.

Backfield news: No Rams running back is on tonight's inactive list, so the room is unchanged from earlier today: Kyren Williams starts, Blake Corum is the 1B. Corum opened 2026 with 10 carries for 54 yards in Week 1 and McVay praised his efficiency. There is no injury designation on any Rams back for this game.

Scouting: The premium handcuff in the NFL: Kyren Williams rarely splits work evenly, so an injury would hand Corum a true every-down role in one of the league's best offenses. Already carving out a timeshare on merit — durable, decisive and trusted on all three downs.

Starter injury history: 2023: high ankle sprain (his second in two years) cost him four games on IR. 2024: played every game but the meaningless finale, when McVay rested starters. 2025: 295 touches across all 17 games, including an in-game ankle scare vs. CAR in late November that did not cost him a start. Two clean seasons after an injury-marred start to his career.
