Check the timing

After the early games, reassess the starter’s status and the backup’s role before considering a later kickoff. Keep a useful player instead of rotating just because another game is available.

Can I rotate a bench player after his game starts?
That depends on your league’s platform and settings. Some leagues lock every player at kickoff; others permit dropping certain bench players. Confirm your actual roster rules before planning an afternoon rotation.
